This video demonstrates the anatomical structures involved in phonation. Peripheral structures are emphasized. The physiology of vocal cord vibration according to present theories is presented. Induction of vibration according to the modified aerodynamic theory and vibration stop according to the oscillo-impedentiel theory are explained. The video is completed by a short presentation about the use of stroboscopy for vocal fold vibration examination.
