This film is the third in a series of 3 television programs designed to introduce the medical profession to the concept of PHARMACOECONOMICS. This is a young but rapidly evolving science which joins the notions of economic evaluation with those of quality of life and global management of pathology. Pharmacoeconomics is currently forming the base of future therapeutic strategies. It encompasses the challenges which face research scientists, doctors, and all other health care professionals. This series had been shown on Belgian television at the end of 1996 and is still available on video. For the festival, we have chosen to present only the third episode which concerns the practical aspect of pharmacoeconomics applied to dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
