This document is an introduction to the technique of problem-based learning, (PBL) with the help of a concrete example realised with 2nd year medical students. You will learn the methodology of this didatic approach (the 8 steps of PBL, the role of the tutor, the role of the students) while you are immersed in the atmosphere of a tutorial. The emphasis is placed upon the function of the tutor. This document lends itself particularly well to the training of tutors and students lead to participate in the PBL tutorials, in order to gain a prior glimpse of PBL.
