When a child is born with a handicap, the way to annonce this difficult reality influences dramatically the parents' attitude towards the newborn. It is essential to pass on their information in a consistent and human way, for the benefit of the child and his parents. This document aims to inform health care professionals' awareness on rules to respect and optimal conditions to recreate, when annoncing the diagnostic, in order to ease the parents' shock and help to a better adaptation to the situation.
