The mangroves from Guyana have a fascinating history. Their life cycle is related to the gigantic mud banks. They come from a very active stream that is situated several hundreds of kilometres away: the Amazon, the vastest river basin in the world. Consequently, the vegetation has to be extraordinary and capable to fix the grains in moving mud, to draw the necessary nutrition from salted water. There, the mangroves enter the scene!
Fred, Jamy and Sabine explore the mangroves that stretch across dozens of kilometres along the coast of Guyana. Moreover, they explore the natural richness, the unique fauna, of the fen of Kaw. They follow the traces of the black caiman, chased because of its beautiful skin that is threatened with extinction nowadays.
