A woman of about fifty, Martine, and a ten-year old girl are taking a walk together. They are talking; Laura, the little girl, wants to know what Martine is currently doing - Martine is making a film.
Martine tells her her lifestory, she explains about her disease, explains how she was invited to talk about it on April 5th, 2003, when a special conference was held in Amiens to celebrate the 500th kidney transplant done at Amiens's teaching hospital (CHU).
Laura's questions and Martine's answers, which are accompanied by the testimonies of dialysis patients or patients who have received new kidneys, and by thoses of donors or doctors, help to highlight the importance of organ transplant, the difficulties involved and the drastic precautions that are taken.
Most of all, they make it possible to broach the issue of organ donation and to induce all civic-minded people to think about it.
