Jan Maka was a child like any other. Overnight, his and his family's life was turned upside down when it was discovered that Jan had autism. What is it like to live with a child affected by this neurological disorder? Anna Barczewska's poignant short-length film introduces us to the trying reality of a disorder characterised by a difficulty in communicating with the outside world through the voice of a devoted mother and the testimonies of specialists. "A Child Unlike Any Other" has a universal significance and depicts the everyday struggle of all parents of children with autism and the shortage of accessibility to treatment. A distressing cry from the heart.
