The construction of the A19 motorway resulted in an archaeological adventure like none before: since June 2005, some 200 archaeologists have come to this 101-kilometre long site which crosses the Loiret from Artenay to Courtenay, one of the richest regions in French history. Their discoveries tell the story of the great adventure of the men and women who lived here between Neolithic times and the 15th century when the Hundred Years' War ended.
