This is the difficult story of four lives struck by an atrocious disease even more so if you think that it only affects children taking everything away from them : motion, breath, the ability to eat.

They are strong and intelligent children who even if unable of running and talking, live their lives tenaciously. They have a terrible disease and its name is very frightening : Spinal Muscular atrophy or Werdnig- Hoffman Syndrome. Fifty-five cases in Italy, four of which in the Salerno Province, between Battipaglia and Agropoli.

It is a disease that affects the newborn babies in their first months and the diagnosis is carried out within the sixth month. The diagnosis is carred out through a muscular biopsy and an electromyography and the DNA test.
