This DVD sets out the basis for reliably assessing pain in young children. EVENDOL is a new behaviour rating scale based on the observation of behaviour. This scale, validated in paediatric A&E departments, can be used in other contexts. Using 5 criteria, EVENDOL measures the intensity of pain in young children, from birth to 7 years, whatever the type of pain may be: acute (with cries and agitation) or prolonged (accompanied by withdrawal and psychomotor atony).
This interactive DVD explains the scale, demonstrates it using 3 clinical cases, addresses the main difficulties encountered and contains exercises in which the user rates on-screen the pain suffered by children shown in short video sequences.
