SPARADRAP has set up a fun and original training course for health students and professionals based on the theme of communicating with children and their families in hospitals. It covers the essential matters concerning communication provided by doctors and nurses to the families (emphasising the importance of listening, adapting language, consideration of the patient’s case history, the difficulties families experience in handling the illness and finding their way around the hospital).
This training was initially dispensed and assessed in fifteen training institutes. It is now available on this DVD which includes a customisable slideshow (in PowerPoint) with animations, video and audio clips, printable documents and a 24-page educator’s manual for guidance.
