In the Brazilian northeast, the eucalyptus wood is used as a combustible for the transformation of iron-stone. The plantation of eucalyptus at a big scale generates a monoculture which transforms the land into a "green desert". The wood's producers expel the small farmers who don't own an ownership title on their lands. Having as only resources the land on which they've lived for generations, these farmers loose in this way their only way of subsistence. Refusing this fate, loads choose to resist to defend their dignity and right to their land. Andiroba shows the fight of these farmers" communities through the eyes and the work of mobilization and resistance of a former priest : the Padre Vale. During this trip through Maranhao, we follow with him a path that resembles his life, the path of Andiroba.
