In Niger, peolpe settles for basic medicine distributed by health centers, contraband medicine or traditional amulettes that are supposed to protect oneself against evil.
All the while, an alternative exists. This alternative has existed for thousands of years and just waits to be fully developped : medicine that is produced from African plants.
While Casimir Azandeme, the young director of the herb cultivation facility Bani Turi, is trying to distribute his newly produced medicine, Damouré Zika, an old traditional healer, has always used them.
The only thing left is to convince the politicans that local ressources and ancient traditions have become a contemporary and efficient reality, a new path for developpement.
