Each day, about a hundred Quebecers find out they have cancer - people struck by fate who must now begin fighting for their lives. We'll follow the battles of four of them.

Denis has intestinal cancer; Claude, leukemia; Agathe, breast cancer; and Guy, lung cancer. Four cancers. Four destinies. As the days and months go by, we witness their courageous struggle, sharing in their hopes and fears. We'll see that modern medicine has an increasingly potent arsenal against this devastating illness - weapons able to cure patients or extend their lives; weapons with enormous potential, but often powerless to fight this disease of a thousand faces.
