Bicycles seem to have become a fashionable means of transport in Paris. Nonetheless, despite the arrival of the Vélib bicycle hire system in 2007, there is still a long way to go before bicycles can genuinely assume their place in the heart of the French capital. Through meetings with diehard users, militants, doctors and public representatives, “A vélo” reveals the brakes, dangers, advantages and joys of cycling daily in Paris: less pollution, a quieter city and contribution to better health.
