As everywhere in Europe, it is during the 13th century that the modern meaning of the word "cure" appeared in Croatia, when Medicine and Pharmacy became separate specialties. Between the ancient "cure" and the modern one, the monks in the abbey’s pharmacies, ensured the transmission of knowledge and experience.
