Presentation of new instruments, designed at the Centre CCL of Colpo-Coeliochirurgie of CHUV for the extraction of tissue by parascopy. This video describes in detail the instrument and its use. Surgical sequences are complemented by illustrations.
Endoscopic retroperitoneal nephrectomy has been accepted as a minimally invasion procedure for removing non or poorly functioning kidneys caused by benign disease. In this program this procedure is demonstrated. A Storz morcellator is used to remove the kidney.
Professor Benabid's neurology team carries out a computer-aided stereotaxical cranial biopsy. The robot was designed at La Tronche hospital in Grenoble; it helps the surgeon to maximize the instruments trajectory , thanks to 3d technology and NMR and X-ray imaging.
This video depicts the use of SurgiScope - an image guided surgical system - during a intracranial operation at Hôpital Necker, Paris. SurgiScope comprises of a robotic microscope holder, an advanced image handling software and a position sensing system. SurgiScope accurately and interactively guided the surgeon, at every stage of the surgical procedure and the brain tumor was successfully removed.
one marrow diseases cannot always be accurately diagnosed on peripheral blood tests without a bone marrow examination. This film describes the equipment needed to perform bone marrow aspiration and trephine biopsy. Various methods used for staining bone marrow smears and biopsies are described step by step.
Tape 3 shows the practical use of the slit lamp: the observation unit, the inside of the illumination unit, the instrument base and the headrest. The access to the patient's eye is shown. Retraction of the eyelids, insertion and removal of a contact lens, eversion of the upper tarsus and adjustments for children examination are demonstrated.
Tape 2 shows the optical phenomena of refraction and absorption. The interference of the illumination modes are explained. The light can be used as an optical knife which can be sharpened and rotated. Disappearance of the optical knife and changing of the observation angle are explained. hors compétition.
This program is an introduction to the slit lamp examination of the eye. Tape 1 shows the basics: the purpose of auxiliary optical devices use like plus or minus lenses, the access to the periphery of the fundus, the binocular vision. The visualisation of transparent tissue is provided by four optical phenomena. The generation of light scattering and specular reflection are explained through computer animation and clinical examples.
