For 15-year old Pauline, 10-year old Richard and 6-year old Lenni, life means something very special. They suffer from leukemia and they are facing death. Pauline writes poems, Richard knows everything about his disease and Lenni ?s charm fills any room. Three strong young people with all their plans, hopes, triumphs and defeats. An unsusual cinematic approach to a situation that is not all about the disease but instead the search for life’s energy and power.
Each day, about a hundred Quebecers find out they have cancer - people struck by fate who must now begin fighting for their lives. We'll follow the battles of four of them.
And if a team of Belgian researchers were about to highlight a revolutionary treatment that can cure with high efficiency, some forms of cancer? A few years ago, a research group of Gembloux, led by Lucas Willems led to Arsène Burny, discovered, quite by chance and a lot by intuition, that a certain type of molecule could have a surprising property: the reminded that cancer cells have to die instead of falling asleep and accumulate to form tumors. A breakthrough, which has generated much hope!
Clara Klaar, 40 years old, tells the story of her fight against leukemia. A year of hell illustrated in a moving metaphor by the sand storms and suffering of participants in the Marathon des Sables, one of the toughest foot races in the world. A gripping tale that underlines the need for hope and strength in order to overcome insurmountable odds.
