See to listen, open the eyes to find the sound. The autism beheld by this youngman modifies his listening capabilities - we apprehend with an amplified sense the world that surrounds him - he shows to our sight what we do not listen to.
As unexpected as it may seem, deafness does not prevent the practice of music. The testimony of Christian Guyot is a striking demonstration: sourd severe birth, it is now a recognized musician and transmit their knowledge in major music schools. Based on this observation, a unique initiative started in the Musical Instruments Museum in Brussels: initiations to music designed especially for young deaf and hearing impaired. An amazing challenge!
I am six years old. I am in a classroom. Lots of light is coming in through the window behind me… A boy from my class - his name was Philippe - came up and whispered a secret in my ear… and I never heard his secret… (excerpt from the film's dialogue)
It is a film on the perception of sound and music through deaf people.
A deaf person hears through the eyes, the skin, the vibrations and develops a form of perception that we, hearing people, have but less developped.
The film has been conceived to be heard by both deaf and hearing people with the problematic of visualizing the sound and having the images audible.
