It's the end of the 1990s. Nicola has been stuck in his hospital bed for several years, suffering from a degenerative disease that has reduced his capacity to move and even breathe. While obviously strictly circumscribed, his hospital life is nevertheless abdundant in relationship. His doctor, Daniele, who looks after him, has become his best friend, while his sister Giulia visits regulary. However, this is not sufficient for Nicola, and with the arrival of a new portable breathing system he finds that he's suddenly able to get out of his hospital bed, for the first time in years.
Viva holiday time" is the story of six disabled adult
holidaymakers travelling to Italy together.In August 2004, they left Besançon by minibus, supervised by two group leaders, with the desire to see pigeons and the sea, to step out of their everyday surroundings into the unknown and meet new people. This film is their summer road movie, the story of their pains and their joys. Six holidaymakers, all unique, all different.
Boat, plane, car: three choices made by Pulsations TV to travel, each one implying specific precautions. Which? It is what we will see, without forgetting the questions of insurances (disease and accident); vaccines (according to the destination); the travel pharmacy (adapted to its destination); useful phone numbers, to carry... and to give to close relatives; etc. Before embarkment, Pulsations TV went for counselling at the unit of medicine of the voyages and migrations of the policlinic of medicine (Community medicine).
